    Hyundai launched 3 new LPG variants of Eon






Hyundai Motor India launched three new liquified petroleum gas (LPG) powered variants of its hatchback Eon D-Lite plus, Era plus and Magna plus priced between Rs.2.98 lakh and Rs.3.42 lakh.



"The D-Lite plus offers a host of features, all for less than Rs.3 lakh. Similarly, Era plus and Magna plus also offer enhanced features," said H.W. Park, managing director and chief executive, Hyundai Motor India in a statement.

"The idea behind the new variants is to offer extra value to our customers. The LPG variant forms part of Hyundai's blue drive (eco-friendly) range which comes with factory-fitted separate petrol (32 litres) and LPG (34 litres) tanks that guarantees enhanced safety to customers with a two-year warranty," said Park.



The petrol-powered 814cc hatchback was launched last year in October and is priced between Rs.2.69 lakh and Rs.3.71 lakh.




Speaking on the launch of these new variants, H W Park, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “The D-Lite plus offers a host of features all for less than Rs. 3 lakh. Similarly, Era+ and Magna + also offer enhanced features. The idea behind the new variants is to offer extra value to our customers.”



Christened as the Eon BlueDrive (blue drive represents Hyundai’s eco-friendly and fuel efficient range) , the car is available with LPG kits in the aforementioned new varaints.All the new variants here offer LPG kit for a premium of Rs. 27,000 over comparable petrol model.



The BlueDrive models come with a good 34 liter LPG tank along with a 32 liter petrol tank and meet global performance and safety standards.The LPG kit in Eon Bluedrive is impact resistant and is approved by DOE (Department of Explosives). It is tested and certified by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India).The factory-fitted LPG system carries full 2 year manufacturer warranty. The LPG tank has a special ‘Toroidal’ structure that, in words of Hyundai, enables intelligent use of space and makes for larger boot space than conventional LPG-fitted models. With the introduction of the LPG versions, Eon should have a range of about 1,200 kilometres on a full tank of LPG and petrol.
